A family photography session with me will be fun, memorable, and relaxing. Not only can I promise to deliver you exceptional photos of your family in Bend, Oregon but I can also ensure that the experience is positive.
As a mother myself, I know it can feel daunting and chaotic to even think that a family photography session could be fun...not only are you probably pushing around your typical schedule (think dinner time, bath time, bed time) to accommodate golden hour but you are also asking your kids to smile for over an hour?! Yes...and here's how we do it...
Before your session, I will work with you to select the best location and time for our session. I have a location list I will share with you of areas in and around Bend, Oregon that you can choose from OR we can select any other location you have in mind. Note that if you are not local to Central Oregon, I can still work with you to accommodate a location outside of Bend.
Another thing I will ask prior to your session is the ages of your kids. I have a few tricks up my pocket and want to prepare some prompts, playlists, and other fun twists for your kids to keep them engaged. However, the more you tell me of their likes/dislikes prior to the session the better so I can personalize and plan for your kids.
At the start of the session, I will always prioritize what I call the "full family framers". These photos are your typical family photos- everyone staring straight into the camera with big 'ol smiles. Since it's the beginning of the session, it's easier to engage everyone early on and get everyone "warmed up" at the start.
From there, I start to run different combinations for the family. For example, if I have a family of four I'll run through poses and prompts of just the kids, kids/mom, kids/dad, mom/dad, individuals, etc. Throughout this time, this gives everyone a break at some point to split the session up a bit. As I pose you, I am asking your kiddos questions, interacting with them, and ensuring that I can cater to how they are feeling. Tantrum? They get a break. Spilled snack on their shirt? We change them. Not smiling? We turn some music on. Truly, I've seen a lot and even the families whose kiddos have complete meltdowns are getting some beautiful images.
Another aspect of what makes this possible is movement. I ENCOURAGE a lot of movement (especially for toddlers and younger kids) so that you are getting authentic smiles, real moments, and your kids personalities are naturally showing up. The poses I suggest will help with this movement and make you and your family feel like we are playing games at some points during the session.
After your family photo session, I will cull and edit your images. I will deliver them through a PicTime link that will allow you to easily view and download all of your photos in both high resolution and web based files.
Upon delivering them, I will ask you to download and back up the full gallery in multiple different locations. You will own the rights to your photos so you can print them as you wish, but it is best to purchase them directly off of PicTime as I can assure the quality of your images will be gorgeous.
